Blackfriars Newsroom Opens

The FoundryAlliance News came down from the Cloud today, as the moving boxes were piled high in our new London newsroom on Blackfriars Road.

Our new building is called The Foundry. According to our landlords, the red brick building dates back to 1819. It was formerly home to the Blackfriars Type Foundry and, up until 1954, Wicks Rotary Type Casting Co. proving printing type to nearby Fleet Street.

Very appropriate considering the co-founders of Alliance News Limited set their plans in motion at the nearby Founders Arms pub.

The new newsroom has space for all our reporters, editors and interns when they are not out covering the news. Being close to the Southwark Tube station on the Jubilee Line, we are ideally place to cover both the City, Canary Wharf and Westminster.

With London’s financial district simultaneously expanding east and west of the Square Mile, where do you think the centre is now located?
