Here at Alliance News, we think we are doing our bit to reinvigorate British journalism. We have opened a new newsroom walking distance from Fleet Street in a former news-type foundry. We are covering every listed UK company, and thereby becoming the Newswire of Record for a reinvigorated London stock market.
But in one tradition, we are letting down the side – boozing. So far our downfall has been primarily strong tea and jammy dodgers, rather than lager and pork rinds. In our defence, Alliance News starts filing in earnest at 6:30 am, which means we are up much earlier than that.
It rather takes the edge off our night life.
But when we do indulge in a post-scribbling tipple, we are very fond of our local, The Crown pub on Blackfriars Road. And given the choice offered by the brilliant sign they’ve put outside, we know which direction we would prefer.
